Workers of Negative (Photography Exhibition)
Visual identity design for the Bleach Kollektiv’s black and white, analog photography exhibition
Contemporary photography is governed by a resounding paradox. The easier it is to take photographs today, the more difficult it is to understand how the process works that will make the photograph “visible”, printed on a real material, photographic paper. The approach to this specific exhibition has to do precisely with this overcoming of the paradox of contemporary photography. The Bleach Kollektiv treats the photographic image both as “handicraft” and as “artistic expression”. The works presented have been created in an analog way, from their taking to the final printing. Black and white films have been used that were developed “by hand” and then printed in the darkroom using the silver gelatin process in order to highlight the handmade aspect of the work.
